When you are employed by someone else as opposed to working for yourself, motivation usually comes by way of anticipating pay day. If you don't show up for work and put in the hours you won't get paid and are likely to get sacked. You may find your colleagues or your ambition of getting promoted provide motivation. When you freelance you don't have these forms of motivation.

Here are eight tips which may help you get motivated when you work from home.
1. Remember why you are doing the work you have chosen
Write down your reason. Put one or two goals in writing and display them where you can see them to keep yourself focussed and motivated.
2. Draw up a timetable
It is as important to allocate 'time off' as it is to allocate time for work. Time off allows you to recharge your batteries.
3. Set yourself small goals and deadlines
4. Use whatever motivates you
5. Set aside a specific area for your work
6. Make the effort to dress as you would for the office
7. Find others to motivate you
8. Make a motivation board
Take advantage of whatever acts to motivate you when you are working from home. If what you are currently doing isn't working for you, then try something different. Remember if you are new to working from home, it will get easier with time as you get into a routine.
